The Best Wedding Dates of 2026 & 2027, Scored by Two Traditions

We scored every day from mid-June 2026 through the end of 2027 for marriage — each one judged by Western electional astrology (the Moon's phase and sign, Venus and Mercury's motion, the planetary ruler of the weekday) and by the Chinese almanac (the day's officer in the 建除 cycle). These are the dates where the two traditions agree.

Most "lucky wedding date" lists are folklore — repeating numbers, pretty patterns, someone's favorite Saturdays. This list is computed. For every single day in the span we calculated the Moon's phase and sign from its actual ecliptic longitude, checked Mercury and Venus retrograde windows, weighed the planetary ruler of the weekday, and derived the day's Day Officer (建除十二神) from its earthly branch and the solar month — the same engine behind our Auspicious Date Calculator. A wedding scores well when the Moon is waxing, Venus is direct and rules the day, and the almanac's officer is one that favors marriage: 成 Success, 定 Stable, 开 Open, or 平 Balance. It scores badly under a waning Moon, Venus retrograde, or a 破 Destruction, 危 Danger, or 闭 Close day.

One important caveat before the tables: these scores read the day in the abstract — the same for everyone. The personal layer, in Chinese practice the decisive one, is whether a day clashes (冲) your zodiac animal or your partner's. A 94-point day that clashes the bride is, by tradition, not her day. Check any date below against both your charts in the calculator before you book the venue.

The best Friday, Saturday, or Sunday in each month of the span. Friday — Venus's own day — dominates the list, exactly as the old planetary-day rule predicts.

Two dates deserve special mention. Friday, November 12, 2027 is the highest-scoring weekend day in the entire two-year span: a 成 Success officer — the most auspicious of the twelve — on Venus's own day, under a bright waxing gibbous Moon, with both Venus and Mercury direct. And Friday, December 31, 2027 matches it: marrying into the new year on a Success day, with the Moon newly waxing. For couples planning around 2027, those two Fridays are the calendar's gifts.

Just as importantly, the scan surfaces the weekends where both traditions object. Note the cluster in October 2026 — Venus is retrograde from October 3 to November 14, 2026, the classical prohibition on marriage, and the officers underneath it are unkind too.

Fri · Oct 9, 202633破 Destruction — the breaking day — on a waning crescent, Venus retrograde
Sat · Oct 10, 202636危 Danger officer, dark Moon, Venus retrograde
Sun · Nov 8, 202637闭 Close — the sealed day — on a dark Moon, Venus still retrograde

Sat · Feb 27, 202739闭 Close on a Last Quarter Moon

The practical rule that falls out of the data: avoid weddings from early October through mid-November 2026 altogether. If your venue offers you a discount weekend in that window, the sky already took it.

A strong abstract date is the starting point, not the answer. To finish the job: check the day against both partners' Chinese zodiac animals for the clash (the calculator does this from your birth dates), look at the day's Moon sign against your natal charts, and choose the hour — even the best day has a strongest window. The full personalized reading goes further still, reading your Bazi day-masters against the day's pillar and naming the exact window to say the words. Run your date through the calculator — the verdict is free, and it takes ten seconds.

Will your date hold? Check it against both your charts.
