What is Binah?
Binah — Understanding — is the womb of form. Where Chokmah is the spark of will, Binah is the dark sea that receives it and gives it shape. She is the Great Mother, *Aima Elohim*, and the source of structure, time, and limitation. Binah does not create from nothing; she shapes what Chokmah initiates. In the Kabbalistic tradition, Binah is the first Sephirah where the divine becomes intelligible — where "knowing about" becomes possible.
